‘Cruel was the snow’ says the song about Glencoe in Scotland. And when the snow is cruelly cold, these muffly warmers in super-chunky wool-mix yarn and two layers of Harris Tweed will keep you feeling so warm and cozy.
I knitted the basic warmers and then sewed pieces of authentic Harris Tweed in purple and pink hues to the knitting using my sewing machine. And stitched the edges of the Tweed at the sides by hand.
You can wear them as I am here with your thumbs through the thumbholes or slide your thumbs out and wear them as cuffs around your wrists or mittens over your hands.
The edges of the Harris Tweed pieces will fray over time. I like it that way.
