Forest Ancestors Apron

sold 2014, USA

The Inner Wild Forest Ancestors Apron is my little homage to my ancestors, the hardy, strong, self-sufficient women of the Western Isles of Scotland (next stop America).

The Forest Ancestors Apron is heavily textured, hand knitted in a traditional knot-work pattern reminiscent of family roots and wild grasses woven by the wind.

I’ve knitted the apron band in the same knotwork stitch so that it sits beautifully.

The Forest Ancestors Apron is a gorgeous pea green color and is beautifully soft in pure merino wool.

You can wear the Inner Wild Forest Ancestors Apron all kinds of ways.

A wonderful top layer garment for those who, like me, love the layered-look. Especially fabulous with a dress or as a kilt-like layer over a skirt. Or to make a simple statement against a solid neutral or whatever you fancy, color or pattern.

It works well with trousers, jeans, dresses and skirts, creating a different feeling with each.

Oh, how I love aprons. [And they make you want to put your hands on your hips a lot and strike a staunch pose! Or is that just me….?]
