Golden leaves and Autumn sunshine. Ripe pears and dripping honey. Butterscotch and brandy wine. Early mornings and straw bales in the fields.

Harvest.

Here in the Inner Wild Harvest Sun Bodice I’ve reaped some butter honey colored Araucania Nature Wool and sewn some Harris Tweed and Liberty of London floral fabric.

I have sewn ruffles of a classic and much-loved herringbone Harris Tweed – a honey herringbone pattern – to the centre front alongside a panel of Liberty of London classic floral patterned fabric.

I love how Harris Tweed frays so I have let it fray a little but have finished the shoulder strap edges with a small zig-zag stitch so it doesn’t get out-of-hand.

Wouldn’t it be a fine thing to wear this on the prairie, in the golden fields of a John Denver song, down by the creek in Little House on the Prairie, listening to Neil Young singing Harvest Moon while siting in the machair of the Hebrides?

Bees will dance for you like wheat sheaves in the wind.

The Harvest Sun Bodice with Harris Tweed an Liberty of London detail measures 19.5″ from underarm edge to underarm edge when lying flat { there is lots of stretch in the garment } and 13″ from shoulder to hem edge. It is a size Small / Medium : UK 8-14 / US 6-12.
